The Marsa Matruh region lies 290km west of Alexandria, or just over 500 km distance from Cairo. Its warm but refreshing Mediterranean climate helps make it a wonderful holiday destination.

The area boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with soft white sands and calm turquoise waters. The scenery is truly enchanting, with numerous natural caves. It is said that Alexander the Great stopped in the area.

In addition to the wonderful beaches, there are many monuments and sites of historical interest in the surrounding areas. You can visit Rommel’s Hideout, a cave hewn in a rock, which is where Rommel drew up plans of his military operations. Or you can go to Alamein and see the Marina Ruins – an ancient city from the Greaco-Roman period discovered in 1985, with temples and tombs. These are just two examples of the cultural and historical diversity that the area has to offer.

We are currently developing a resort in the area of Ras Hewala, 35 km east of Marsa Matruh international airport.
