other emirates are along the Arabian Gulf.
The historical importance of

immigrants who came from the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula and who were
later known as the Phoenicians.
In the past, the two main
occupations in Fujairah were fishing and agriculture.
Fujairah is now one of the most
popular tourist and travel destinations in the region, and has a lot of
attractions and activities to offer.
A paradise for water sports
enthusiasts of all kinds, the warm crystal waters harbour a marine life rich in
variety, making it particularly good for diving and fishing.
For the more adventurous, off-road
driving through desert and boulder- strewn valleys provides unrivalled
panoramas startling emerald green date groves nestle between the towering Hajar
peaks, which contain some of the oldest rocks in Arabia.
Fujairah's unspoiled natural
beauty reveals many facets of rich and beautiful nature: mountains, waterfalls,
oases, long beaches and valleys. It is also a land of water springs, both cold
and warm.
One of the major cities in
Fujairah is Dibba, where the coastal plains are rich and fresh water is plenty.
Dibba is known for its many ancient castles, fortresses and remains.
